After we released Lucky Towers in Minecraft Party, we were flooded with messages asking if we could turn it into its own standalone minigame. At first we were unsure, as the concept seemed a bit too simple for a full game. In the end your excitement convinced us to give it a try. You might already know the basic idea, but in Random Item Battle you can look forward to new twists and details that take the gameplay to the next level. There are no power-ups yet, although we already have some special ideas ready that we will add if the game is well received.
You start high up in the air on a small platform or floating island. Every few seconds you receive random items — anything from useful tools and powerful weapons to simple blocks. Your goal is simple, but not easy: knock your opponents into the void or defeat them in combat and be the last one standing.
The key to victory is using your random items wisely. Every round plays out differently, as there are countless tactical possibilities depending on what the game puts in your hands.
A round lasts a maximum of 15 minutes. From the halfway point onward, the item spawn rate decreases, forcing you to make the most of what you already have. The scoreboard always shows who has the most kills. When time runs out, the player with the most eliminations wins.
And don’t forget about spawn eggs! Throw them at your enemies to unleash creatures that fight for you — an unpredictable but often game-changing tactic.
In Random Item Battle, the maps not only determine how many players a round starts with and how they are positioned at the beginning. Each map also has its own unique features that you can use to your advantage. Some provide you with valuable resources, others have central platforms for intense battles, and some can be blown up entirely. Almost every map also has a slightly adjusted loot table that matches its specific environment.
Maps available at release:
You can play Random Item Battle not only solo but also in teams. At the moment there is only one team map (End) with two-player teams, but we plan to expand this option if there is enough demand. The team version completely changes the way the game feels: now it is not just about surviving yourself, but also helping your partner secure the win. The bridges and paths you build should be designed so that both of you can advance safely. Communication and coordination are key!
So, what are you waiting for?
